Last week, I spent a week in Cancun, Mexico with my good friend from college for his brotherโs wedding! A celebration of love and life was felt consistently throughout the duration of the trip, and I loved getting to meet new people and acquiring new experiences. Secrets Maroma Beach was the resort our group selected, and all of us collectively deduced that the location could have not been more perfect.
All inclusive and adults-only, the resort resides adjacent to the gorgeous turquoise waters of Maroma beach and contains everything you need for a fantastic vacation. Occupants visited from all over the world, and most of those we chatted with mentioned they were additionally traveling for a wedding. However, there were also plenty of regular vacation-goers as well. The concept of all-inclusive resorts was unfamiliar to me. While I’ve embarked on cruises in the past, which similarly offer comprehensive packages covering meals and entertainment (with the exception of alcohol), the resort experience presented a new type of travel opportunity.
In terms of food, I thought everything was delicious, but Iโm also not hard to please as long as fruit and yogurt are within the proximity. Secrets Maroma Beach has four casual-elegant restaurants serving Mexican, French, Japanese, and Italian Cuisine. A more casual sit-down restaurant was directly below these and served Mediterranean food. Directly next to the pool was a spot for Seafood, but they also had a steak option as well. The bride and groom are vegan and mentioned there wasnโt a whole lot of selections to cater to their diet. However, they mentioned the dishes the restaurants did offer were all delicious.

Cozy and ambient, our group loved the sit-down options for food. The mole chicken at the Mexican restaurant and pesto at the Italian location were incredibly tasty! I also tried octopus and lamb for the first time. Traveling inspires me to try new tidbits and go out of my comfort zone. When you travel, even if it is just to another state, you learn something different. Removing yourself from the daily wearabouts and paradigms that youโve accustomed yourself to in any capacity promotes meaningful lessons.
The resort has a whole activities team that hosts events throughout the week such as pool + beach volleyball, dancing lessons, and painting. I went to one of the sunrise yoga classes to feel refreshed. Our instructor was knowledgeable and pushed us out of our comfort zone! Staff was SO incredibly attentive and a pleasure to speak to; most even remembered our individual names. With two large pools (one including a swim-up bar, mind you), a nightclub, at least five sit down restaurants, 24 hour coffee shop, and nightly entertainment, our group was never bored.

Our group participated in one of the catamaran excursions through the hotel the second to last night. We traversed across what I believe was Isla Mujeres. I havenโt been on a boat in four years, therefore it was special, exhilarating, and mesmerizing! A shuttle bus picked us up from the lobby of the resort and it took us on a roughly hour-long ride to the docking bay. I was hypnotized by the beauty of the ocean, especially in conjunction with the distant sunset. Feelings of glee and peace perpetuated my soul as the wind grazed our faces alongside our new friends.

The rooms and suites were incredibly comfortable and luxurious! Each room has a scenic view covered by palm trees and tropical skies. Bathrooms contain a jacuzzi and two sinks, there was plenty of space for us. Alongside the nightstand was a tablet which enabled access to room service, viewing daily activities, and available services for the spa/excursions/etc. The resort offers 24-hour room service with a generous menu of selections.

I feel like this blog post would be incomplete without some fit-checks; here are some of my favorite outfits and makeup looks throughout the trip!

- Dress: David’s Bridal
- Romper – Shein
- Sandals: DSW (Yes, they are kids size LOL)

Overall, our trip to Cancun was rejuvenating and a large celebration of love, which was unequivocally evident throughout the week. I’m immensely grateful I got to share this sacred time with friends and that we were able to attend Peter and Shaye’s wedding. I will cherish these memories forever ๐
